The Netherlands has officially confirmed the delivery of the first F-16 fighters to Ukraine.
Oku.Az TASS reports that this is stated in the statement from the country’s Ministry of Defense (MoD).
“The export license for delivery was issued on July 1. After that, the first promised F-16s were delivered to Ukraine,” the Defense Ministry noted.
The number of fighters delivered is not mentioned. In total, the Netherlands promised to send 24 aircraft to Ukraine.
The document also states that the Netherlands has allocated 400 million euros to the drone movement plan for Ukraine. Within its framework, the two countries will work together to develop modern drones and accelerate the production of successful prototypes. Almost half of these funds will remain in the Netherlands.
The Ministry of Defense added that the total amount of military aid to Ukraine reached 3.76 billion euros.
