A new Asian Development Bank (ADB) country director for Azerbaijan has been appointed.
According to the information received by “Report”, it is Sunniya Durrani-Jamal.
Today he officially began his duties at the ADB permanent representation in Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that Ms Durrani-Jamal has more than 25 years of professional experience, 16 of which she worked at ADB, mainly in management positions. He was the bank’s country director for Cambodia, senior advisor to the vice president for East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific region, and chief economist.
Ms. Durrani-Jamal holds a Master’s degree in Economics (Human Capital Development) from the University of Sussex (United Kingdom) and a Master’s degree in Economics (Monetary Policy) from Quaid-i-Azam University (Pakistan).
She replaced Candace McGeegan, national director of the ADB representative office in Azerbaijan, who has held this position since 2021.
