The departments of Lozère, Ardèche and Gard will enter an orange watch for rain and flooding from 10 p.m. on Monday, October 7, Météo-France announced in its 6 a.m. bulletin.
“During the night of Monday to Tuesday, an active storm episode will affect the Cévennes regions. Precipitation will be intense and could cause accumulations of about one hundred millimeters in three to six hours. Throughout the episode (approximately twelve hours), between 150 and occasionally 200 millimeters are expected » of rain, details the meteorological agency.
The end of the alert in these three southern departments is scheduled for Tuesday around 10 a.m., according to the public establishment. Météo-France evokes a deterioration “quite large and unusual for the month of October” throughout the country, from New Aquitaine to the Centre-Loire Valley and the northeastern quarter. However, these types of episodes are not unusual in the Cévennes regions, emphasizes the meteorologist.
