Valencia adds eight restaurants to the “We’re Smart Green Guide”, a global reference in sustainable gastronomy

Valencia has added eight new restaurants to the prestigious gastronomic guide specializing in food and sustainability “We are an intelligent green guide”world leader in sustainable gastronomy, as reported by the town hall in a press release.

Llobet congratulated the 17 Valencian establishments that are part of the “We’re Smart Green Guide” and thanked them for their “constant commitment” to local and seasonal products. “Entering this guide, a reference in the international gastronomic scene, means not only that these restaurants eat very well, but also that by doing so we support the entire value chain that promotes sustainability and local products”, a -he emphasized.

Sustainable gastronomic reference

The prestigious guide “We’re Smart Green Guide” has announced some of the new features of its next edition, which will be presented in Valencia on November 12. In this new edition, Valencia “consolidates itself as an international reference in sustainable gastronomy with the eight new establishments, which are added to the list of recommendations of the guide, once the corresponding inspections and tests of their respective menus have been carried out to confirm that They comply with the demanding requirements of the guide,” said Desraxadi.

Furthermore, the Fierro restaurant, which presents itself with five radishes – a scale used by the guide to classify its recommendations, ranging from 1 to 5 – will compete alongside two other Spanish restaurants at the Discovery Awards 2024, in the revelation restaurant category.

The “We’re Smart Green Guide” was born from an initiative by We’re Smart World, a company founded by Belgian chef Frank Fol, known worldwide as “vegetable chefwith the aim of rewarding and making visible excellence in plant-based and sustainable cuisine. The aim of this guide and the awards gala it organizes is to promote healthier eating and to be a platform that stimulates positive changes in the restaurant industry towards more sustainable practices at global scale.
