“Despite its claims to protect human rights, the government is blamed for mistakes made during the 2022 national protests.”
This was said by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, according to the “Azad Iran” channel “Telegram”.
According to him, the management and information system does not function properly in crisis conditions.
Masud Pezeshkian emphasized that if the authorities could properly address the events that sparked the protests, perhaps there would not be protests.
Recognizing that freethinkers and critics face repression in universities, the country’s president added:
“We should not worry about their criticism. We should allow critics and protesters, especially among educated people, to speak freely.”
