The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños, described Monday as “peaceful” the reform of the law which will reduce the sentences of members of ETA which, with the sentences in Spain , have others imposed by third countries, a change that was made through the back door in Congress and which went completely unnoticed by the opposition. For Bolaños, it is a parliamentary procedure that “has nothing to do with the government» and that “this is limited to the application of a European directive”.

“It’s a parliamentary procedure absolutely peaceful. In fact, in Congress, all parliamentary groups voted without exception, including for the PP and Vox, and this parliamentary process also continued in the Senate, where there were not even any amendments. May the General Cortes work towards this peaceful and unanimous process,” declared the Chief of Justice.

Despite the call to the media last night, when the parliamentary “trap” had not yet appeared, the minister has been elusive and he refused to respond to the media when they insisted on the consequences of the reform, claiming that he was in a hurry.
