AG Siderúrgica Balboa will receive 2.43 million in aid from Perte’s decarbonization for a project in Badajoz

AG Siderúrgica Balboa will receive 2.43 million euros in aid of decarbonization Loss for a project in Badajoz.

The Siderúrgica Balboa project is one of the 14 selected projects, which will receive a total of 96.3 million euros in the context of decarbonization Lossand which was announced this Monday by the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu.

Another of the selected projects is that of the group formed by Peñasanta Food Corporation and Ence Energía Extremadura, which will receive 2.52 million for its facilities in Siero (Asturias).

This was emphasized by Hereu during the inauguration of the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), which runs until Thursday at the DFactory, in which the President of the Generalitat, Salvador, also participated Illa; the deputy mayor Jordi Valls and the special state delegate to the Barcelona Free Zone Consortium (CZFB), Pere Navarro.

Also present were the President of Parliament, Josep Rull; the government delegate, Carlos Prieto, and the Minister of Business and Labor, Miquel Sàmper.

Hereu explained that this is “excellent news” for the industry, economic development and the future of the Spanish economy.

Concretely, the 96.3 million euros will be distributed between AG Siderúrgica Balboa receives 2.43 million for a project in Badajoz; Stellantis Spain, 13.88 million for its factory in Figueruelas (Zaragoza); Integral Activities Costa Brava, 7.60 million for a production plant in Arbúcies (Girona); Cementos Portland Valderribas, 8.86 million for the Santa Margarida i els Monjos factory (Barcelona); Alier, 4.38 million for a project in Roselló (Lleida); Crisnova Vidrio, 10.43 million in Caudete (Albacete), or Castellar Vidrio, 6.31 million for its new strategy in Castellar del Vallés.

Also Fertiberia, 2.97 million for its Puertollano factory project (Ciudad Real); the group formed by Corporación Alimentaria Peñasanta and Ence Energía Extremadura, 2.52 million for its installations in Siero (Asturias); Cunext Copper Industries, 30 million for the production of green copper in its Córdoba factory, and Holcim España, 2.71 million for the Carboneras factory (Almería).

Finally, Ercros will receive 533,000 euros for its factory in Vila-Seca (Tarragona); Cerámica Peño, 635,000 euros in its factory in Talavera de la Reina (Toledo); and the group formed by Jumos Valencianos del Mediterráneo and Naturgy Iberia, which received 3.04 million for its factory in Sagunto (Valencia).

The aid was granted to Cunext Copper Industries –30 million–; Stellantis Spain –13.88 million–; Portland Valderrivas Cements –8.86 million– and Costa Brava Integral Activities –7.6 million–, among others.

The minister highlighted the public policies that collaborate with the industrial sector to face “two great revolutions”: digital and green.

Europe

Hereu valued the exchange of experiences and knowledge between the different actors in the economy.

He indicated that this exchange must meet the aim that Europe is “a great economic engine, a great industrial engine and the great engine of happiness that is tourism”.

He assured that the BNEW was responding to difficulties and challengesand that this spirit must be the one that will mark the path of Catalonia, Spain and Europe in the new stage.
