THE wife of the president of the government, Begoña Gómez, will attend the Madrid Assembly to report on its relations with the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) in a commission of inquiry that will study whether there was “nepotism” in the relationship between the public body and Gómez.
This was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Popular Party, Carlos Díaz Pache, who added that Gómez would also attend the first session of the said commission of inquiry, which will be officially created next Tuesday.
With Begoña, the PP also announced that it would convene the rector of the Complutense University of Madrid, Joaquín Goyache. Both will be the first to appear and are expected to appear before the Regional Chamber in October.
“As the commission progresses, we will also consider summoning Pedro Sánchez and other senior government officials,” said Pache, who directly linked the statements of the first respondents with the presence or absence of the leader of the ‘National Executive.
