Feijóo will visit Germany, Poland and Belgium to advance their European alliance against illegal immigration

The leader of the PP, Alberto Nuñez Feijóowill resume its international agenda in the coming days to advance its proposal for “European Alliance” against illegal immigration. Genoa sources claim that Feijóo has already had closed meetings in Warsaw with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tuskformer President of the European Council (2014-2019) and of the European People’s Party (2019-2022), and with the leader of the opposition in Germany and the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Frédéric Merz. On October 17 and 18, 2024, a European Council is planned in Brussels, Feijóo will therefore be seen there as usual with his colleagues from the European PP.

During these meetings, Feijóo will present both his proposal for a “European alliance” against mafias and illegal immigration, as well as the pact concluded by the PP. with the government of the Canary Islands In this regard, a text supported by the 14 autonomous governments of popular in order to “combine” a policy that defends the “legality” of the “humanitarian treatment of immigrants”.

In September, Feijóo met in Athens with the Greek Prime Minister and president of New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakisand with the Minister of Migration and Asylum, Nikos Panagiotopoulosof which he praised his “firm” and “austere” immigration policy compared to the “non-existent” one of the Spanish executive of Pedro Sánchez.
