The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is dissatisfied with the tightening of migration policy in Russia.
“Some of the measures being taken are, to put it mildly, disappointing. It seems as if someone is deliberately pitting Russia against neighboring sister regions.” — Kadyrov said on October 7 on his Telegram channel.
Migration policy, according to the head of Chechnya, “if it is changed, it will not be in such a disgusting way, when they frantically attack all foreigners who approach them.” They are detained without any ceremony and lately these events have been carried out very harshly, he stated.
“The problem we are discussing cannot be solved by mass expulsion of citizens of other countries. And this problem did not arise because of the visiting people. The root here is the reason for the carelessness of those who at some point should have addressed issues within their competence and responded promptly to any escalating process. But there was practically no control. In any case, inciting hatred towards immigrants in society will not achieve anything good, on the contrary, we will only make the situation worse. It would be better, at least now, to establish a competent migration control system and develop appropriate policy in this area. But there is no way to subject citizens of other countries to a random inquisition. It is necessary to eliminate the causes and not face their consequences.” – suggests Kadyrov.
He called for “abandoning these medieval approaches and seeking a specific solution to the problem.”
“The main thing is to understand that among immigrants there are lawbreakers and also those who respect it. The latter, by the way, are much more numerous. And this is important. Okay, we will drive away today’s migrants through total persecution and purges, but tomorrow others will arrive from other states, and who will guarantee that they will be better? – added the head of Chechnya.
