The majority unions in our country, CCOO and UGT, have called for a general transport strike by road. A decision they took due to the lack of agreement with the government to regulate the early retirement of drivers. Some strikes which will be as much goods and passengers.
Union representatives detailed during a press conference convened this Monday in Madrid which are the days on which they plan to carry out these stops, emphasizing that the first of them will begin on October 28.
In all, there are seven dates indicated: October 28, November 11, 28 and 29 (during Black Friday week), and December 5, 9 and 23. In addition, they assured that from this last day, the strike would become unlimited if an agreement was not found, in the middle of the Christmas campaign.
The call concerns all drivers who provide services in the transport of goods by road, whether light vehicles or heavy vehicles, transport of people by road using mechanical traction vehicles with more than nine seats , urban public passenger transport and medical transport.
The unions assured that they had already achieved all possible measures to avoid the strike, such as rallies, both at the provincial and state level, contacts with all relevant ministries and with different political groups, but no solution was found.
CCOO and UGT request that this early retirement is carried out through the formula for applying reducing coefficients of arduousness and dangerousness of the profession.
Until this coefficient is specified, they request partial retirement with replacement contract, voluntary for the driver who can continuously accumulate the percentage of hours he must work and who, in his place, integrates a young person, provisionally. .
