The 110th anniversary of the Clinical Medical Center operating under TABIB was celebrated.

Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance, who opened the event with an introductory speech, spoke about the innovations that have occurred at the Clinical Medical Center after the implementation of compulsory health insurance throughout the country, and praised the activity of the medical institution:
“Among the medical institutions of the capital, the Clinical Medical Center is one of the health centers that receives the heaviest load. The main objective of the implementation of the compulsory health insurance system in the country is to ensure the population’s access to quality medical services. It is no coincidence that the Clinical Medical Center occupies an important place in this process.”
TABIB Executive Director Vugar Gurbanov said that in recent years the Clinical Medical Center has been equipped with new and modern medical equipment and spoke about future plans and prospects:
“Currently, there are about 40 departments operating in the Clinical Medical Center, and the number of these departments is increasing day by day. It is planned to establish an Angiography department here at the end of this year, and the Heart Center will begin functioning from next year.”
V. Gurbanov noted that the medical staff working at the Clinical Medical Center plays an invaluable role in the healthcare of Azerbaijan and said that this center was chosen for its high level of services both during the 44-day Patriotic War and during the pandemic. .
The member of the Milli Mejlis Health Committee, MP Malahat Ibrahimgizi and other people also spoke, praising the activity of the Clinical Medical Center, which has been in existence for more than a century, and speaking of its contribution to the country’s healthcare.

At the event, the director of the Clinical Medical Center, Konul Alekbarov, spoke and reported on the reforms that have been carried out in the Medical Center in recent years, the work carried out and the successful results obtained:
“If we talk about statistical figures, we can clearly see the role of the Clinical Medical Center in our health care. For example, in 2023, more than 36 thousand of the 454,868 patients admitted to state medical institutions within the framework of compulsory care The health insurance received medical care in this center. This means that about 8% or 8.3% of the 191,569 surgical operations carried out in the country during the same period, including planned and emergency operations, are not enough. that we have the potential to achieve greater success in the future.”
It should be noted that the 110th anniversary of the Clinical Medical Center coincides with the date when Azerbaijan regained its sovereignty. For this, several medical workers were awarded for their excellent services in the hospital during the Patriotic War.
At the end of the event, the presentation and signing ceremony of the book “Emergency Medicine”, published for the first time in the history of healthcare in Azerbaijan, took place. The author of the book is the director of the Konul Alakbarov Clinical Medical Center.
