Murcia court suspends prison sentence of four of the businessmen who paid for sex with minors

THE Provincial Court of Murcia suspended the prison sentence agreed for four of the thirteen convicted in a minor prostitution network in the first of two hearings convened this week to review the compliance agreement reached nearly a month ago.

This is a businessman sentenced to five sentences of five months in prison eachor other crimes, which will avoid prison provided that they do not commit another crime within four years, do not come within 500 meters of the victims and follow a rehabilitation program. The prosecutor has already announced that he will appeal the decision.

The Chamber considers that the convict is entitled to this benefit because he is a first offender, has paid the fine imposed on him and does not exceed two years, or triple the sentence for each crime.

Faced with this argument, the prosecutor argued that it was necessary to take into account the total penalties, which totals two years and one month.

On the other hand, with the support of the public prosecutor, the The court agreed to suspend the prison sentences of three other convicts who accepted lesser sentences for one crime in two of the cases and for two in another.

Two other convicts were summoned for this Monday, one of whom did not appear for professional reasons and will be summoned for next Monday, while the other did not give a reason for his absence.

Tomorrow, the Court summoned six more convicts.

On September 11, the thirteen defendants (including seven businessmen) who created a small prostitution ring) reached an agreement before the Provincial Court in agreement with the prosecution, which avoided prison sentences, admitted the crimes and imposed fines of between 540 and 4,320 euros and compensation to the victims between 500 and 2,000 euros.

Since the announcement of the verdict, several organizations have called for the incarceration of the condemned, the last of these demonstrations yesterday evening in front of the doors of the Court, which was repeated this Monday.
