The editor-in-chief of the Israeli radio station “Best Radio”, Zvi Zilber, expressed the opinion that the conflict in the Middle East can be ended if a signal is received from Tehran.
He said on FREEDOM TV that Iran’s decision to stop hostilities will have a direct impact on forces such as Hezbollah and Hamas, and this could lead to an immediate end to the war against Israel.
According to Zilber, Israel cannot end the military conflict as it is forced to defend itself from attacks by Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran itself. He recalled that Iran twice attacked Israeli territory with ballistic missiles and drones, Hamas launched an armed attack against Israel last October and Hezbollah began bombing the north of the country on October 8, 2023.
Zilber noted that because of these threats, hundreds of thousands of Israelis were evacuated from danger zones. At the same time, in his opinion, calls for peace coming from the United States and the European Union cannot change the situation, since only Iran has a decisive influence on the outcome of the conflict.
Zilber stressed that even China, which is trying to convince Tehran to reduce tensions, is trying to influence the situation. The expert explained that China is concerned about possible attacks on oil facilities, which could negatively impact global energy markets.
According to Zilber, Iran has currently opted for a wait-and-see attitude and will act based on the outcome of the US presidential election.
He believes that Tehran is interested in Kamala Harris’ victory, since if she is elected, Iran does not fear additional sanctions or threats from the United States. According to him, Iran is already under many sanctions and he is confident that the Harris administration will not increase pressure, especially by military means.
However, Donald Trump’s possible victory raises serious concerns among Iranian leaders, who fear harsher policies if he returns to the White House.
Previously, Kursor reported that with an attack on Iran, Israel disabled the “newest” Russian air defense system.
The attack on Iran damaged the S-400 battery, considered one of the most advanced Russian air defense systems.
