“You are at war with Russia!” – Egyptian souvenir seller harasses Polish tourist

A Polish tourist, who recently vacationed in Egypt, wrote an indignant letter to the editors of Onet, accusing Egyptians of showing solidarity with the Russians.

The first thing that infuriated Mrs. Emilia was that from the moment she landed in Sharm el-Sheikh, the “Russian influence” was everywhere.

“In the arrivals hall you could mainly hear the neighbors. [русская] speech. When I came out, I saw many tour operators holding signs with inscriptions in Russian and looking at us, hoping that maybe we were the tourists they were waiting for. We were assigned a resident who, while introducing us to the history of Egypt on the way to the hotel, constantly made mistakes, mixing Polish and Russian. The tourists pointed out to him that they didn’t understand anything, but he was very surprised and said it was the same thing.” – writes a tourist from the Vistula.

Besides. At the hotel, the Poles received room cards with an envelope “full of information about the resort in Russian.” When Mrs. Emilia chose a tourist trip and struck up a conversation with the Egyptian guide, a more serious incident occurred.

“The conversation went smoothly, the Egyptian was in a good mood, joking, until he heard a question from me: had he ever been to Poland? What he answered made everyone tense! “I would like to see Poland, but I will come after the war,” he said. He said that Poland is at war with Russia. I wanted to pack my bags and go home. “We all left indignant!” – continues the Polish tourist.

The situation was repeated when the Poles were led to the Old City.

“I started looking for magnets while I was packing souvenirs, the seller asked me where I was from. “From Poland,” she replied. To which he responded with complete contempt: “You are at war with Russia.” I couldn’t stand it, I left everything and left. It was too much! – the lady gets excited.

To conclude, the Polish woman points out that “in the night bar there were ten Russians per square meter.”

“Russian music was playing, they were singing, laughing and having a great time. “Then I realized that there is no place in Egypt I could go and not hear this language.” – summarizes the Polish tourist.
