“Parliamentary elections were recently held in Azerbaijan and this is important,” Mikanadze said.
He stressed that the Georgian delegation is raising the issue of the return of the Azerbaijani delegation in meetings with representatives of various Council of Europe institutions. In the near future, it is necessary to start negotiations with the newly elected deputies of the Parliament of Azerbaijan.
Referring to the signing of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Mikanadze noted that Georgia is doing everything possible to achieve it.
“This agreement is important not only for Azerbaijan and Armenia, but also for the entire South Caucasus. The formation of a peaceful environment and the upcoming signing of the agreement will create effective guarantees for all countries and the region as a whole,” Mikanadze said. .
According to him, Georgia is ready to act as a mediator in any process that could lead to a peace agreement.
“We look forward to the early signing of the peace agreement,” Mikanadze stressed.
