061 sent a helicopter and the beach service sent a rescue boat, but when they rescued the body, they could do nothing to save his life.
A swimmer died this Saturday afternoon in the Los Muertos beach in the town of Carboneras (Almeria), as reported by the Emergency Coordination Center (Cecem 112), a service assigned to the Government of Andalusia.
Several witnesses called 112 at around 4:30 p.m. to report a man in the water who couldn’t get out of the sea in the rocky area next to the cave of Los Muertos beach. Citizens reported that several people tried to save him from the sea, where there was a strong undertow.
The coordination room informed the Health emergency center (CES) 061, which sent a helicopter to the scene, the beach service, which mobilized a rescue boat, the Civil Guard, the Red Cross, Civil Protection and the Local Police.
The beach service staff rescued the swimmer with symptoms of drowning and they took him to the sand, where cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers were performed, although he eventually died.
He medical helicopterwho had landed on the same beach, evacuated the man’s lifeless body to the Carboneras football field, where it was recovered by funeral services.
