The leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan, do not yet plan to hold a trilateral meeting to resolve the conflict between Baku and Yerevan, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.
“We did not agree to a trilateral meeting. There was such an idea, but no one supported it.” – Ushakov told reporters.
According to Ushakov, Russia did not object to this format.
Today, October 8, a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev takes place on the sidelines of the CIS summit. Putin is also scheduled to meet separately with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan.
During a meeting with Aliyev, Putin described joint projects between the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan as promising. All of them are real and alive, he noted.
“There are many good and interesting projects both in the energy sector and in the field of infrastructure development. All projects, both bilateral and unilateral, are promising, real and alive.” – said the Russian president.
In addition, Putin personally invited his Azerbaijani counterpart to the BRICS summit.
“Dear Ilham Heydarovich, we are waiting for you in Kazan on October 23 and 24.” – Putin turned to Aliyev.
