He was driving drunk, with his baby in his arms, zigzagging at full speed through the M-30 tunnels, until he fell asleep in the car with the child. It happened on September 9 and its protagonist is a 33-year-old Ecuadorian citizen who tripled his blood alcohol level when he was arrested by the municipal police.
The events began, as its protagonists confessed to the agents of the special services station who take care of the M-30, after a domestic fight. In the middle of an argument with the baby’s mother, the father snatched the baby from his crib and took him away from the house. He got into his car, drunk, and stepped on the accelerator.
The first witnesses notified the Municipal Police after 2:15 a.m. They had seen a man with a baby in his arms, speeding and zigzagging on the M-30. Officers went to work and attempted to locate the driver to save the juvenile’s life.
They found him at exit 11, in Méndez Álvaro, with the car turned off and drunk asleep next to the 9-month-old baby. After taking the breathalyzer test, the man tested positive at 0.82. The driver tripled the authorized fare.
