The Government approves the new Muface concert and increases the bonus for civil servants to 17%

The Council of Ministers authorized the Muface concert call for tenders for the years 2025 and 2026through which health coverage is offered through private insurers to a portion of civil servants who provide services in Spain and 123 other countries, as reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Service.

In a press release, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Civil Service clarified that The total amount of the contract amounts to 1,337,059,970 euros in 2025 and 1,344,553,098 euros in 2026.an increase in the new biannual concert of 303,949,078 euros compared to the last year of validity of the previous concert.

Thanks to this grant, the 2025-2026 concert offers a premium of 17.12%the biggest in history since records have existed. It will increase by 16.5% in 2025 and by 0.62% in 2026.

Over the past 25 years, the annual increase in premiums has averaged 4.4%. After this climb, The average premium per mutualist and per year will increase from 1,032.12 euros to 1,208.81 euros in 2026which represents an increase in the premium per insured of 176.69 euros. It is therefore a two-year agreement aimed at guaranteeing health care to the covered group, which exceeds 1.5 million people, including holders and beneficiaries.

In Muface, 65% are primary, secondary and university teachers and 17% belong to certain bodies of the General Administration of the State.

The government and insurers participating in the health deal for Muface were confident of finding a way out after insurance companies refused. the 14% increase in the bonus proposed by the Executive is insufficient.

Finally, the premium amounts to 17.12%, after insurers have complained for months about the weakness of the government’s offer. By October, negotiations for Muface’s health deal are usually concluded, although it is usually in December that the resolution sees light in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
