What does Biden think about Israel’s plans in Lebanon?

US President Joe Biden’s administration is increasingly wary of Israeli statements about military and diplomatic intentions in Lebanon, US officials said.

This is reported by the Axios portal.

“Our trust in the Israelis is very low right now, and rightly so,” said one US official.

Two officials told the publication that White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan recently told Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer that the United States wants “transparency and clarity” regarding Israel’s plans for a possible attack against Iran.

The request came amid a missile attack on Israel in which Tehran fired some 200 ballistic missiles. Officials emphasize that any Israeli attack would inevitably impact US forces present in the region.

The official noted that Salivan’s message sent the message that unless the United States is informed in advance about Israel’s plans, it cannot join a coalition to defend Israel from a possible future attack by Iran. However, officials acknowledged that the warning was probably unfounded and that the United States would still take action.

The report indicates that the US also expresses concern about the latest operation carried out by the Israel Defense Forces in northern Gaza. This comes despite Jerusalem telling Washington that instructions to evacuate civilians would not lead to permanent displacement of the population.

Previously, “Cursor” wrote that, according to Lebanese sources and geolocation information, military operations in the north of our country in the Galilee bulb area are developing faster and more successfully than expected.
