Air defense systems shot down several air targets over Belgorod and the Belgorod region; according to preliminary information, there were no casualties, said the head of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov. Belgorod Mayor Valentin Demidov clarified that a residential area of the city was attacked by Ukraine.
Windows were broken in three apartment buildings. On the territory of a private house, an outbuilding was completely destroyed; in two commercial buildings, the facades and entrances were damaged by shrapnel. There was also a fire on the lawn and three cars in the parking lot. One car was damaged in the village of Maisky, Belgorod region.
On September 1, a missile alert signal was active throughout the Belgorod region for 15 minutes.
On the night of August 31 to September 1, authorities in the Moscow, Lipetsk, Kursk and Voronezh regions reported that they repelled drone attacks. In the Bryansk region, according to Governor Alexander Bogomaz, 12 drones were shot down in one hour.
