Starting January 1, 2025, Russian border guards will stop serving at the checkpoint on the Armenia-Iran border. They will be replaced by border guards from the Armenian National Security Service.
Oku.Az reports that such an agreement was reached today at the meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. This was stated on social media by the press secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nazeli Baghdasaryan.
At the same time, the parties agreed that from January 1 next year, together with Russian border guards, Armenian border guards will protect the border with Turkey and Iran.
