This extensive attention to the issue, of course, is due to the special importance of Kaani’s personality to the Iranian regime.
Thus, the commander of the Quds Force, responsible for Sepah’s operations abroad, is an important figure in Iran’s regional politics, and his mission is vital for the regime, especially in the current circumstances. Ismail Kaani was last seen at the Hezbollah office in Tehran two days after the assassination of Hassan Nasrullah.
After that, he was reported to have left for Lebanon. On October 3, the Israeli army carried out another destructive attack in the southern region of Beirut and, as a result, reports spread that Hezbollah’s new secretary general, Hashim Safiaddin, had been assassinated. Additionally, General Kaani was said to be with the new Hezbollah chief during the Israeli airstrike.
Although those reports have not been officially confirmed, subsequent developments have raised questions about Kaani’s fate.
