Nasrallah’s likely successor Hashem Safieddin likely killed: Galant

Hashem Safieddin, the likely successor to slain Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, has likely been eliminated. This was stated today by the Israeli Minister of Defense, Yoav Galant, Bloomberg reports citing Israel’s Channel 12.

“(Safieddin) seems to have been eliminated,” – said Galant.

Safieddin’s apparent death, which was not announced by Hezbollah or the official Israeli military, underscored that the group’s leadership had been almost completely destroyed, Galant said.

“There is no one to make decisions. “Another day will pass, another week, another two weeks, and when the smoke and fog clear, Iran will realize that it has lost its most valuable asset: Hezbollah.” – said Galant.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah deputy chief Naim Kasem He said today that he will not back down from attacking Israeli territory or fighting Israeli troops in southern Lebanon.

“What the enemy says about our capabilities is an illusion. Our fighters are on the front line, we are strong,” he emphasized.

According to multiple Lebanese sources, Safieddine was at Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters in Beirut, the Lebanese capital, when Israel attacked it.

Hassan Nasrallah, who led Hezbollah from the early 1990s, was killed in an Israeli attack in Beirut on September 27. Safieddine is Nasrallah’s cousin and became head of Hezbollah’s executive council in 1992.
