The likely successor to slain Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddin and the latter’s successor have been eliminated. This was stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a video message addressed to the Lebanese public, reports the Times of Israel.
Netanyahu did not name Safieddin’s successor.
Safieddine was killed in an airstrike in Beirut last Thursday.

Today Hezbollah is weaker “than it has been for many, many years,” the Israeli prime minister noted.
He dedicated much of his message to calling on the public to take back the country from Hezbollah control.
“You, the Lebanese people, now find yourself at an important crossroads. It is their choice,” Netanyahu said, in particular.
