“It is not enough for Azerbaijan to have a say in the region. Our country is becoming an important player along with the system of allies it has built. This is what worries and irritates the United States the most.”
This was stated by Turan Ibrahimov, head of the Baku TV department.
Highlighting that the issue of the Zangezur Corridor is very important, the journalist pointed out that this is not a path that can be opened by the dictates of the West:
“Our Head of State has given this message many times. Of course, Azerbaijan is located in this region and the region has its own realities and important states. It is impossible to exist here without taking into account its interests. The example of Georgia is a good argument for us and for all those who speak against what we say.”
T.Ibrahimov noted that, despite all pressures, Azerbaijan is not interested in resolving the processes only in accordance with the interests of the West in the context of national interests:
“Azerbaijan wants to solve all the problems of the region in the form of an equal partnership in accordance with its interests, peace and stability. In other words, it wants to build its future according to the “win-win” principle. This is of concern. Western circles, especially in the United States, it’s about that.”
