The Ministry of Emergency Situations spoke about the search for the missing helicopter in Kamchatka

The search for the missing Mi-8 helicopter in Kamchatka is being carried out in several directions at once, including in the area of ​​Lake Takhkoloch and from the village of Nikolaevka, the press service of the department reported.

More than 40 people are taking part in the ground search, including specialists from the Kamchatka Rescue Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, forest rangers and volunteers on all-terrain vehicles. Aircraft of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with rescuers on board are ready.

The department said the search was complicated by weather conditions including fog and rain caused by the cyclone.

The Mi-8 helicopter owned by Vityaz-Aero disappeared in Kamchatka on the morning of August 31. According to the Federal Aviation Agency, there were 22 people on board: three crew members and 19 passengers. The Prosecutor’s Office and the Investigative Committee have launched an investigation.

It later emerged that the financial director of the Russian Football Union (RFU) was on board the missing Mi-8. Arseny Zamyatin with my wife.
