The explanation of the SEPE leaves no doubt: “Workers who will benefit from the new model of unemployment assistance will benefit from simpler access, will benefit from better protection and will be able to make unemployment benefits and allowances compatible with activity professional, as indicated in the agreement concluded within the framework of social dialogue with the most representative trade union organizations. The new standard simplifies regulations to ensure greater flexibility of access and reduce administrative burdens so that the processing and recognition of benefits is easier for citizens. Beneficiaries, in a situation of long-term unemployment, are integrated as a priority into programs and actions which allow their reintegration into the labor market with guaranteed access to the services of the Common Portfolio of Services of the National Employment System.
The money they receive will increase compared to previous benefits, so the amounts will need to be taken into account. Beneficiaries of the level of unemployment assistance can receive the following amounts:
- First 6 months: 95% IPREM: (570 euros according to the current reference).
- Next 6 months: 90% IPREM: (540 euros).
- Rest of the period: 80% IPREM: (480 euros).
Added to this money will be certain improvements in health care that we need to take into account to be able to get the most out of it.
- The current deduction for part-time work is abolished. Returning Spanish emigrants without the right to contributory benefits will be able to access the subsidy.
- The calculation of income is modified in such a way that the applicant who exceeds 75% of the interprofessional minimum wage will not be excluded, but family responsibilities will be taken into account when the total income of the family unit is divided by the number of people who earn , (including the applicant) does not exceed 75 percent of the SMI.

- Groups that did not previously have this coverage, such as people under 45 without family responsibilities or temporary agricultural workers, will also be able to access it.
- The number of days necessary for temporary agricultural workers included in the Special Scheme for Agricultural Workers to benefit from unemployment benefits is reduced to 10.
