The United States began secret negotiations with Iran

The United States and Arab states have begun secret talks with Iran on a comprehensive ceasefire aimed at calming all war fronts in the Middle East at once, Channel 12 reports.

According to the channel, Israel is not currently participating in this initiative. Meanwhile, senior Israeli officials have been briefed on the negotiations.

The network notes that it is unclear how these efforts will affect Gaza, which is more complex than other fronts due to Israel’s desire to continue fighting even after a possible deal with Hamas.

“We are currently in a position of strength, the ceasefire will be carried out on our terms, including the withdrawal of troops north of the Litani River and the dismantling of all Hezbollah military units in areas near the border,” — a senior Israeli official told the channel.

The situation in the Middle East remains tense. Since late September, Israel has been actively carrying out airstrikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut, destroying Hezbollah’s infrastructure. The Israel Defense Forces also announced the start of limited ground raids against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon’s southern border region, Interfax recalls.
