The leader of the PP, Alberto Nuñez Feijóoaccused the president of the government, Rock Sanchezof “falsifying even immigration data” and published a series of figures to dismantle his “hoaxes”.
During the plenary session of Congress held on Tuesday, in which Sánchez presented a report on the immigration policy of the Executive, Feijóo criticized him that “every time a socialist government arrives, irregular immigration overflows to the Canary Islands.
“In 2006, with Zapatero, 31,678 immigrants entered through the Canary Islands, and when the PP returned to government in no year did it exceed 1,000 arrivals. From there, with Sánchez in 2020, 23,000 arrivals; in 2021 22,000, and in 2023, the worst year of the series, 40,000,” he added.
