Cut on this Madrid Cercanías line: dates and trains affected

One of the consequences of the terrible DANA which affected Spain This week there has been a reduction in transport services such as the trains that go from Madrid to Valencia, but in addition to these reductions we must also talk about the transport service. Surroundings what is already happening had announced strikes on those days due to infrastructure works. Concretely, it will be the C-3 line, which connects Madrid to neighboring areas and other communitieswhich will face an interruption in its service, it is therefore important to be well informed of the duration of the planned work as well as the entire section concerned.

In this sense, on this occasion The cut affects the sections between Getafe Industrial and Villaverde Bajonews that raises concerns both in Madrid and in Castile-La Mancha and Andalusia, given that many workers and students depend on this connection for their daily trips.. The works will be carried out at the same time as the Todos los Santos bridge which begins today, so that November 1, 2 and 3 will be the period in which Renfe and Adif will take the opportunity to carry out the necessary works on the infrastructure of this line. Although these interventions aim to improve the quality and safety of the service, the impact on user mobility is significant, so it is important, as they say, to know in detail all the sections that will be affected and what transport alternatives they could have.

Cut on this line Madrid Cercanías

In order to mitigate the effects of the cutting of the C-3 line of Cercanías de Madrid, Renfe has put in place transport alternatives for affected travelers, including free bus services on the interrupted section, as well as additional information on other mobility options on the Cercanías network.

The cut of the C-3 line between Getafe Industrial and Villaverde Bajo will begin today, Friday, November 1, and will continue until November 3.. During these days, the trains that usually travel this section will not be operational. Instead, Renfe has operated two special free bus services, designed to meet the needs of travelers during the construction period. Trains coming from Aranjuez will arrive at Getafe Industrial, while those leaving from Chamartín will end their journey in Villaverde Bajo.

For passengers who need to travel between the affected stations in this section (El Casar, San Cristóbal Industrial and San Cristóbal de los Ángeles), Renfe offers two bus lines with different options. The SE1 special bus will run between Getafe Industrial and Villaverde Alto without intermediate stops, with a frequency of 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the time. The SE2 bus, on the other hand, will follow the same route, but will make stops in El Casar, San Cristóbal Industrial and San Cristóbal de los Ángeles.ensuring adequate coverage for travelers at intermediate stations.

Transportation alternatives for the C-3 line

To guarantee mobility on the C-3 line, Renfe has launched an alternative transport plan which includes, in addition to the aforementioned buses, information on other network connections. Travelers can also choose to take line C-4 to Villaverde Bajo, which covers the route between Parla and Chamartín, and which can be a viable option for those who wish to continue their route to the northern area of Madrid.

Passengers are advised to check bus schedules in advance, as Frequencies may vary depending on time slot and specific day. These changes aim to minimize the impact that the works could have on users, taking into account that the Todos los Santos Bridge generally has a lower passenger flow compared to usual working days.

Other Cercanías lines affected

In addition to the C-3 line, they were announced cuts on lines C-2, C-7 and C-8, which affect the connection between Vicálvaro and Torrejón de Ardoz. This cut, which will also take place between November 1 and 3, will leave the Coslada and San Fernando stations without service, which represents an inconvenience for many users in these areas. To mitigate the impact, Renfe has implemented two special bus services, the SE-1, which will go directly from Torrejón to Vicálvaro without stopping, and the SE-2, which will cover the route with stops in San Fernando and Coslada .

In addition, It was reported that Civis trains, which run the Guadalajara-Chamartín line, would be out of service from November 4 to 6.leaving users without that fast connection. Civis passengers will have the opportunity touse regular trains on line C-2which allow the connection from Guadalajara to Chamartín passing through Atocha, but with a longer travel time than usual.
