The trial against Tanzila Karimova, accused of confiscating 1 million 232 thousand manats under the name “online lottery”, continued.
Bizim.media reports that the victims testified in the trial presided over by Judge Eldar Ismayilov at the Baku Serious Crimes Court.
One of the victims, Hajar Bakhishova, was the director of one of the groups created to play “online lottery.” He said he joined the group with his girlfriend.
“I was the leader of the second group. My friend and I entered this game together. I joined the group in May and after a month I was appointed to the position of leader. The reason was that I was active. I managed to get 10 people in the group. I invested 2,500 manats in total and my money was not returned.
Tanzila Karimova asked the victim if she could withdraw the 61,000 manats she had sent her.
Hajar Bakhishova said that she took the money from the card and distributed it among the group participants.
The court asked the victim for a report about the money.
Another victim, Aygun Farajova, claimed that she joined this network through a classmate.
First he earned the promised money. Subsequently he was unable to obtain funds:
“After joining the group, I, my aunt’s daughter, my classmate, joined the game with 180 manats. We received the promised 1260 manats. Later, other groups were opened. I also won money for the people I invited . Now they are also recognized as victims. In addition to the groups opened later, I was unable to make a profit in the last group of 3,450 manats.
The judge directed questions to Aygün Farajova about the people she involved in the game. The victim claimed that this task was entrusted to her by Tanzila Karimova:
“Mrs. Tanzila told me not to add other people to the group. Invite them with your own name. She wanted me to send the money and distribute it to the others.”
The process has been postponed to question other victims.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 16.
It should be noted that starting in April 2022, Tanzila Karimova created groups and abused people’s trust by organizing “Online Lottery” games on the Internet and fraudulently seized 1 million 232 thousand 559 manats from 81 people.
In the “Lottery” 180 manats were accepted from each person to join the game first, and the payment of 8 people – a total of 1440 manats – was paid to the person whose turn it was to win. Since July 2022, it has created a game with a “fold” system. According to that system, the person who invested received an income in exchange for several times the money they had invested in an entire month. The funds were raised on his card and that of the group leader.
Subsequently, the payment of said cards was made to the winner’s card. That is, the person who invested 500 manat on July 5 received 2,500 manat on August 5. To do this, he deducted a certain amount from the participants’ money and deposited it in the deposit account. The deposit money was collected in their bank card accounts. For example, a person who joined before July 5 and invested 180 manats received a payment of 900 manats instead of 1,440 manats, and the remaining 540 manats were deposited into a deposit account. After July 5, the deposit was given to the person who invested on behalf of earning 5 times the payout.
The victims, mostly women, were forced to file complaints with the Main Department for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of the Interior and a criminal case was opened against Tanzila Karimova under article 178.4 of the Criminal Code. The preventive measure of “delivering him to police custody” was chosen.
