“They’ve been serving chorizos for years.”

“Between you and me, For many years, instead of professionals, they put sausages“. This is how he referred Juan Carlos I to the government of Felipe Gonzalez in one of the audios of his conversations with Bárbara Rey revealed this Wednesday by ‘OKDIARIO’.

During these conversations, the then head of state spoke with his friend about the cases of corruption that affected the Executive led by González, saying he did not understand why they did not pass a bill more important electoral vote in the PSOE:

Barbara Rey: “And you, who do you think will win these elections?”

Juan Carlos I: “Look, I believe that the PP will win something, but not with the absolute majority”

Barbara Rey: “Well, my son, I don’t understand, after so many problems with the PSOE, that people continue to vote for the PSOE”

Juan Carlos I: “I don’t know, I don’t understand”

Barbara Rey: “I just don’t understand because well, they cook beans everywhere, and those on the right and those of the PP I imagine they also have their affairs, but with all the scandals that there have been lately …”

“They’ve been serving chorizos for years.”

With these “scandals”, Bárbara Rey was referring to the corruption cases that affected González’s cabinet and the disappearance of the former director of the Civil Guard, Luis Roldan. The monarch assured that the socialists “have been putting sausages for years” in high positions in the administration:

Barbara Rey: “We already know that whoever is in government is going to do business, if that makes sense: just by being there, well no, because it’s very hard work, the years of your life are gone with the problems that arise “You have to have significant compensation, I understand that what’s happening is that you can’t take so much money from people and fill your pockets like that without any qualms. “

Juan Carlos I: “As they say, between you and me, for many years, instead of putting professionals, they have put chorizos…”

Bárbara Rey: “A lot! And everyone from the boat sucked, a lot of chorizos”

Juan Carlos assured that Alfonso Guerra was “behind a republic”

The monarch also shared with the star her fear that a significant sector of the Socialist Party attempted to establish a republic. This sector, as the emeritus explained, would be directed by Alfonso Guerra and this would be a way of questioning the leadership of Felipe González:

Juan Carlos I: “There are already groups of intellectuals, journalists, sectors opposed to Felipe (González) within the PSOE… an important group of the PSOE, led by Guerra, and an important group of intellectuals of the IU , and these are at the origin of something which is the republic”

Barbara Rey: “Yes, yes, of course, and they are against the monarchy”

Juan Carlos I: “Yes; then, since they are against Felipe, they wouldn’t mind destroying anything.”
