The Board of Directors of Fuenlabrada City Hall approved the 30% bonus on the trash rate and reduction to the legal minimum of the IBI by 2025 in an effort to “help families and counteract the effects on neighbors” of the so-called trash “task.”
More precisely, the town hall of Javier Ayala gave the green light to four measures for this purpose on the occasion of Law 7/2022 of April 8 on waste and contaminated soil for a circular economy, which requires municipal councils to have a rate approved in April 2025 “specific, differentiated and not deficient” on this activity.
The fee meets an obligation provided for in a 2018 European directive and must finance municipal expenses generated by the waste management service: collection, transport, selection, treatment and finally landfill of the non-recyclable part.
Thus, the Government Council gave the green light to the draft tax ordinances for 2025 with measures aimed at mitigating the impact that this new tax will have. To benefit from this 30% reduction, to which all residents will be entitled, The city council will open a deadline in the coming weeksindicated the Consistory in a press release.
One of the lowest rates in Madrid
In this sense, it is emphasized that the rate planned in Fuenlabrada “will be one of the lowest in the Community of Madrid” thanks to the fact that the city is “one of the cities in the region that recycles the most and best “.

Furthermore, the Consistory maintains the bonus up to 5% (always with a maximum of 40 euros) for those who benefit from personalized tax payment and divide this payment into 2 or 6 installments. Likewise, it is planned to freeze all other taxes and fees, which in this way will not even increase the planned CPI.
“Fuenlabrada, like all municipalities, we are obliged to implement a new tax set by the European Union, but the municipality has decided to once again side with its neighbors to lighten the new burden as much as possible“, explained the mayor, Javier Ayala.
