AZERTAC reports that President Ilham Aliyev, who referred to the importance of COP29, said that even though Azerbaijan has less than a year to celebrate it, high-level preparations are being made for this event in our country.
Stating that Azerbaijan plays an active role in building bridges between countries and global participants in the international world, the Head of State stressed that our country has been effectively cooperating with international organizations for many years and successfully chairs the Movement of Countries Not Aligned. All this creates a good basis for the organization of COP29.
During the conversation, satisfaction was expressed for the cooperation between the COP teams of Azerbaijan and Great Britain and it was stated that climate change is a priority issue on the agenda of the British government.
At the meeting, the prospects for cooperation between our countries in the field of renewable energy, as well as the priorities and initiatives of the COP of Azerbaijan, were discussed.
The Head of State referred to the measures adopted by Azerbaijan in the field of renewable energies. They exchanged views on increasing the renewable energy potential of our country, the quadrilateral cable line project between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary, which will be built under the Black Sea, as well as the renewable energy project that will connect Central Asia . and Azerbaijan.
During the conversation, the importance of the pre-COP event held in Baku in terms of setting the agenda for COP29 was addressed.
