José Antonio Fúster, born in Santander in 1968, was appointed new president of Vox in Madrid In replacement of Rocío Monasterio. A journalist by profession and trained at the “ABC” school, he was appointed director of “La Gaceta” in 2014 by Julio Ariza, president of the ‘Intereconomía Group’, a few months before the closure of the printed version of the newspaper. A clearly expressed appointment complacency of the far-right party with him for his role in the media, where he did not hesitate to defend the postulates of Abascal and the new direction taken by the training, with the elimination of the neoliberal wing.
Professional field
He combines his political activity with journalism. Currently, he holds the position of Opinion and editorial manager of “La Gaceta de la Iberosfera” and collaborates on “El Toro TV” and “Trece TV”. However, this is not his only leadership position in journalism, he was also director of “La Gaceta de los Negocios”, “Chesternon Magazine” and “Digital Media in the Intereconomía Group”. Likewise, he served as Reporting Manager at “La Razón”.
On the other hand, it is volunteer in the Order of Maltasecular religious organization founded in the 11th century in Jerusalem, whose headquarters are in Rome and whose full name is Sovereign and Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and Malta. Their mission, as explained on their website, is summarized in their motto “Tuitio Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum”: witness and defense of the faith and assistance to the sick and needy. It is recognized by the Church and its Grand Master holds the title of Most Eminent Highness, although he does not have territory, which allows him to acquire the status of UN observer state.
