The time has come for temporary farewells in the image of Our Father Jesus of Victory in his Three Falls. The board of directors of Brotherhood O announced this Thursday that it would withdraw from the cult for the intervention approved last summer.
Monday November 4 The parish of Nuestra Señora de la Aurora, in Fátima, will host the mass of farewell to the Lord at eight in the afternoon, after which the workshop of its author, the Cordovan sculptor Antonio Bernal, will move.
There, in his workshop, he will undergo the intervention he requires and which received approval during the last extraordinary council of the brotherhood, held at the end of June.
Regarding the period during which he will remain absent from his temple, the brotherhood explains that “the intention of all parties is to restore it to worship”. as soon as possible“.
The intervention will consist of structural changes, since it is necessary to correct an instability problem that caused a crack in the left foot of the Lord during his first season of penance, on Passion Saturday 2024.
This is why Antonio Bernal will work to slightly modify both legs and include a third point of support on the left knee in the shape of a stone. The height of the image will be slightly reduced, but the victorious pose upon rising will remain intact, as the artist then explained to the brothers.
Additionally, this will fix waist twisting running, so that the feet and trunk are looking forward. Our Father Jesus of Victory in his Three Falls will undergo this intervention five years after his blessing in 2019.
