Francisco Javier Carrera, lawyer for Vox (Oviedo, 1965) died this Wednesday in a hospital, where he was admitted, unable to overcome serious cancer from which he had suffered for more than a year, as confirmed by official sources to Ical.
Precisely this morning, all the political groups had sent messages of encouragement to him and his family during the second session of this week’s plenary session, after Vox’s own spokesperson, Juan García- Gallardo, reminded his party partner. He did so moments before defending a motion on the reduction of inheritance taxes and the one hundred percent bonus on inheritance taxes, which Carrera himself had prepared.
All the political groups of the Cortes de Castilla y León agreed to emphasize that the lawyer was an example of strength in the face of the serious cancer from which he suffered, which ultimately caused his death.
Carrera has been a lawyer since March 10, 2022, the start of the current legislature. He was part of the Committee on Industry, Commerce and Employment, which he chaired, in addition to the Committee on Economy and Finance, of which he was the spokesperson for his parliamentary group, as well as the Attorney General’s Commission. On the other hand, he was also a member of the Culture, Tourism and Sports committees and the Mobility and Digital Transformation committee.
