Letur-Tarrasa, the solidarity movement promoted by Esther

Esther is the granddaughter of Carmen del Cura and Pedro del Llano, daughter of Ramón (de Requena). This is the letter of introduction from the woman who launched a crowdfunding account on GoFundMe to help the residents of Letur, the small town of Albacete violently hit by DANA on Tuesday and where five of its residents are still wanted. The initiative has already raised more than 43,000 euros since Tuesday evening, with more than 1,700 donations.

Its promoter lives 600 kilometers away, in Terrassa, but Letur has it in his blood and knows the missing people. “It’s the city of my family, but also that of my partner. “My roots come from there.”explains Esther Martínez Junyent, who first set foot in the town when she was a baby. “Since I was only 5 months old, every year I have been able to enjoy the city, its streets, its people…”.

Her union with this city, declared a Historic and Artistic Site since 1983, is such that she married her husband there last year. She met him in this town in the Sierra del Segura twenty years ago, although he was originally from Terrassa. In short, Letur means a lot in the lives of these two people, parents of two children. They even have a tattoo with the name of the city on their feet, told on Cadena SER.

Esther communicated her campaign to Letureño City Hall to handle everything that happens. East “the only way I can think of to help right now”, because the money “will surely be needed.” Because she is sure that “Letur will shine again with the help of everyone”, the motto of her initiative, which adds to the current of solidarity present in the city of the singer Rozalén.
