Hurricane Milton is already gone several deaths in a retirement mobile home community in Santa Lucia County in eastern Florida. This was reported by police authorities, who explained that “elderly people reside in the area”. For now, the number could not be specified of deaths.
“We still don’t know how many people died, emergency teams have already deployed a search and rescue operation to the affected homes, some of them in catastrophic situations,” explained the county sheriff, Keith Pearson.
State emergency agency says Hurricane Milton left destruction in its path approximately 125 accommodationsmainly mobile homes. The tornadoes also destroyed an approximately 3,000 square foot Sheriff’s Department facility used to store emergency equipment.
This information was only known a few hours later Hurricane Milton will make landfall in Florida around at 03:00 (Spanish time), leaving behind at least 19 tornadoes with wind gusts of up to 193 kilometers per hour.
The storm has already reduced its intensity to Category 2 and is already moving out of the Tampa area towards Orlando, where it could cause even more damage.
