Russian teachers want to stay and work in Tajikistan – Matvienko

Many Russian teachers want to stay in Tajikistan after their business trips. This was stated by the President of the Russian Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, during her speech at the opening of the plenary session of the VIII Interparliamentary Forum “Tajikistan – Russia: the potential of interregional cooperation” in Dushanbe, Sputnik Tajikistan reports.

“The massive study of the Russian language by the inhabitants of the republic plays a very important role in maintaining that unity. “I would like to once again thank the leaders of Tajikistan for their constant attention to the issue of teaching the Russian language in the republic.” – she said.

According to Matvienko, every year more and more teachers from Russia come to work in Tajikistan.

“Last year we were 72 people, this year there are 82. What makes us very happy is that our teachers are going on a business trip to Tajikistan with great joy. “A lot of them want to stay.” – noted the president of the Federation Council.

Matvienko added that Russia’s cooperation with Tajikistan, including at the parliamentary and regional levels, “is traditionally among the priorities of Russian foreign policy and the interparliamentary activities of the upper house of the Russian parliament.”
