President of the All-Russian Association of Russian Fisheries Enterprises, Entrepreneurs and Exporters (VARPE) German Zverev named the most popular types of fish among Russians. These are mackerel, herring, pink salmon, pollock, trout, salmon, sprat and sprat, as RIA Novosti reports today, October 10.

The cheapest varieties on this list are herring and haddock. Zverev also included navaga, blue whiting, capelin and catfish among the popular and inexpensive varieties.
German Zverev also commented on the increase in prices for pink salmon this season.
“This is due to a minimum of 20 years in the production of this fish. As of October 6, 136 thousand tons were produced, 3.5 times less than in the record year of 2023, when prices for pink salmon fell to 140 rubles, their lowest level in two years.” – the expert is sure.
