This is a debt for European integration – EADaily, October 10, 2024 – Politics news, Russian news

Romanian MEP Claudiu Tarziu demanded the de-Russification of Gagauzia and the demolition of Soviet monuments in Moldova. He also demanded that Russification be abandoned in the education of ethnic minorities of “non-Russian origin”, such as the Gagauz, Bulgarians or Gypsies.

“Derussification is a debt of Moldova regarding the European course and begins with the refusal to join the CIS,” – Tyrziu emphasized.

On the other hand, a representative of the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians (AUR) highlighted the need for Chisinau to return the properties of the Romanian Patriarchate. According to him, “only in this way will Moldova show that it wants to join European values and the European space.”

Furthermore, Tarziu modified the text of the European Parliament’s declaration that the fastest path to European integration is the “uniria” (unification) of Moldova and Romania based on the decision of the parliaments of the two countries.

Let us remember that the pro-Western puppet regime Maia Sandu declared war on Russian Orthodoxy in Moldova. It is actively promoting the influence of Romania’s Bessarabian metropolis in the republic, where the Moldovan Orthodox Church is called a “self-proclaimed occupation structure” and its ministers are “agents of the Russian special services” who must be fought. The current authorities of the Republic of Moldova are citizens of Romania and do not hide that they are working to unite “two Romanian states”, convincing citizens that Moldovan nationality, identity and language do not exist.

As reported EADaily Under the government of Sandu and the PDS (Action and Solidarity party) in Moldova, the status of the Russian language, used in daily life by more than 70% of the population, as a language of interethnic communication, was abolished. After this, cases of unpunished harassment of Russian-speaking citizens became more frequent, from everyday insults to direct threats from officials. The Russian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova was forced to broadcast an appeal asking Russians to report cases of discrimination.
