A new media report casts doubt on recent statements regarding the condition of Iranian Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani. The news comes from Middle East Eye (MEE), a site that experts have linked to Qatar, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Contrary to an Iranian official’s claim that Qaani would “receive a medal from the Supreme Leader,” MEE reports that he is alive and under investigation in Iran. Suspicion: espionage for Israel.
According to MEE, eight different sources confirm that Kaani is being interrogated by the Revolutionary Guard. The report says Qaani survived the Israeli attacks and is now under scrutiny following the assassination of Nasrallah and other senior officials in Beirut’s Dahieh neighborhood.
A source told MEE: “Iran strongly suspects that Israel has infiltrated the Revolutionary Guards, especially those operating in Lebanon. All are now under investigation.”
