The Minister of Economy and Finance and spokesperson for the regional government of Castilla y León, Carlos Fernández Carriedo, has guaranteed that the economic impact of the transfer of Renault Comercial headquarters to Madrid is “zero” in the Community. “It’s neutral, it has no effect,” he assured.
This is what the advisor explained during the press conference which followed the Government Council, where he clarified that the only taxes which have an impact on the Community are transfers of property, the tax on income of natural persons and VAT and, as he pointed out, in this case they do not This affects the coffers of the Community despite the fact that the PSOE estimated the losses at 282 million euros.
As Fernández Carriedo explained, the property transfer tax is not affected because it is paid where a new property is acquired, at the rate of 50 percent of the personal income tax. The collection would be the same since the workers’ income tax return will be registered in Castilla y León because there will be no transfers and, finally, 50 percent of the VAT would also correspond to the retail phase, which is therefore paid where the transmission and transaction of this good takes place, reports Ep.
“I trust Renault and Renault’s commitment to this territory”defended Fernández Carriedo, who recalled that it was the diamond brand itself that reaffirmed its commitment to the future of the Community.
The regional leader of the PSOE denounced a few days ago to the Cortes that Renault had moved its tax headquarters from Valladolid to Madrid, so that the region had lost 2,683 million euros in turnover, which implies a lack collection of 282 million euros per year.
However, management sources denied that Renault España had changed address, while acknowledging that the transfer from Renault Comercial had taken place.
