The Junta de Castilla y León defends the “important step” taken towards a common EBAU

The spokesperson for Junta of Castile and León, Carlos Fernández Carriedodefended this Thursday the “important step” taken by the majority of autonomy – all those of the PP – by moving forward in a “homogeneous” EBAUwhich will now be called PAU (University Access Test). After the meeting of the Government Council of Castilla y León, Carriedo regretted that the government “ignored and did not lead this project”, it is therefore the communities who carry it out with “maximum transparency”.

The new model, published by the Ministry of Education on the Educacyl portal, establishes the celebration of exams on June 3, 4 and 5 in a regular session, lasting no more than 90 minutes, and at least 70 percent of the test must contain open-ended, not multiple-choice, questions. It also establishes that from third spelling mistake In all subjects, except Language and Literature and Foreign Language, 0.10 will be subtracted up to a maximum point, with the particularity that the first two absences will not deduct anything. Errors in writing, presentation, a lack of coherence and cohesion, lexical or grammatical errors can deduct a maximum of half a point. The sum of these deductions can never exceed one point, informs Ical.

The Council spokesperson rejected that these common criteria, which reduced some of the requirements requested by Castilla y León, They do not necessarily have to represent a reduction in the level of quality and the demand for education, even if he recognized that to move forward towards this common ordeal “it is necessary to make an effort at dialogue on the part of everyone”.
