The UN made new accusations against Israel

UN investigators have brought charges against Israel, alleging that the country is deliberately attacking medical facilities in the Gaza Strip and killing and torturing medical staff.

This was reported by The Times Of Israel.

According to the Independent International Commission of Inquiry, such actions could constitute “crimes against humanity.” The commission believes Israel is deliberately destroying Gaza’s health system as part of a broader offensive in the region.

Israel, in turn, explains its actions by the fact that Hamas terrorists use densely populated areas, including homes, schools and hospitals, as shelters for their operations.

Israeli officials say the strikes will target areas where militants operate, but they are trying to minimize harm to civilians.

Recall that at a special meeting of the UN Security Council the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and southern Lebanon was discussed, as well as a possible ban on the work of the UN Palestine Refugee Agency (UNRWA) in Israel.

UNRWA Commissioner General Filippe Lazzarini stressed that the crisis situation requires the agency to intensify its work not only in Gaza, but also in Lebanon, where some 4,500 people are housed in 11 shelters. He noted that the need for the agency’s help has never been greater.

Lazzarini expressed concern that Israel’s actions violated international humanitarian law by impeding the agency’s work. He added that if the law being discussed in the Knesset is passed, millions of Palestinians could lose their refugee status, which would negatively impact the future of a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

The United Kingdom’s ambassador to the UN, Barbara Woodward, criticized Israel and called for an end to restrictions on supplies to Gaza. He noted that the shortage of goods causes looting and attacks on humanitarian convoys and called for the start of negotiations with Hamas.

The Russian representative, Vasily Nebenzya, highlighted Israel’s disdain for UN resolutions, recalling that Israel’s entry into the UN in 1949 was based on compliance with resolutions relating to the partition of Palestine and the refugee issue. . He stressed that sabotaging these decisions undermines the legitimacy of Israel’s membership in the UN.

For his part, Israeli representative Danny Danon stated that the terrorist organization Hamas should have no future in the Gaza Strip. He stressed that eliminating Hamas would allow aid to be directed to those in need and resources would be used for hospitals and schools instead of terrorist activities.

Danon also recalled the Hamas rocket attacks against Israel on October 7 and assured that the Israeli army will continue operations until all objectives are reached.

Previously, Kursor reported that the US ambassador to the UN harshly criticized Israel.

The US ambassador condemned Israel for the humanitarian situation in Gaza and its attempt to ban UNRWA.
