Groundwater fills the courtyards and basements of houses in the Yeni housing estate in the Gala settlement in the Khazar district of Baku.
City residents said groundwater fills their yards and basements in all seasons. When it rains, the situation becomes even more unbearable.
The United Water Supply of Large Cities reported that there is currently no centralized wastewater network in that area. As soon as the district water canal administration receives the request for groundwater, the emergency brigade is rushed to the spot and drainage works are carried out.
In response to the Khazar Khabar investigation, the Khazar District Executive Authority stated that an application had been submitted to the United Water Supply Service of Large Cities regarding the removal of groundwater from the settlement area. To keep the area under control, the corresponding task was assigned.
