The Russian Armed Forces managed to break through the left flank of the Ukrainian defense in the Kursk region, the DeepState analytical project reports. The message, published on the afternoon of October 10, indicates important changes in the tactical situation in the region.
According to analysts, the day was especially difficult in the Novoivanovka area, where artillerymen and drone operators had to join the battle. Russian forces have significantly increased their presence in the area in recent weeks, bringing in equipment and manpower.
Previously, Russian troops attempted to attack in the Snagosti area, which led to tactical successes, but over time Ukrainian forces managed to stop the attack. DeepState notes that until recently these attempts were completely stopped, but on October 10 the situation changed and Russian troops again began an offensive, trying to gain a foothold near the settlements of Novoivanovka and Zeleny Shlyakh.
Analysts consider that the situation in this area is extremely unstable, especially in the units located to the north. In addition, the problem remains poor coordination between the forces of the Ukrainian group in the Kursk region. DeepState emphasizes that the internal structure of these forces is a “vinaigrette” that affects the interaction between departments. One of the alarming moments was when a Ukrainian army tank was hit by a Defense Forces FPV drone, which analysts called a very unpleasant event.
Analysts also warn that repeating similar mistakes could have new negative consequences for Ukrainian troops in the region.
